Foundation
When matching your foundation to you face, make sure that you are not only matching it to your face but also your neck. If you skin tone happens to be different from your neck to your face, match your neck. Otherwise you may achieve the perfect look on your face, but then as soon as they look anywhere else they're going to notice that your face skin tone doesn't match the rest of your skin tone.
ALWAYS REMEMBER TO BLEND!! I know this sounds kind of a no brainer, but every time I see someone and and you can tell where their foundation ends, I want to pull them aside and say this. Blend your foundation down onto your neck so that your skin tone matches the skin tone of your neck... No one wants that horrible foundation line on your chin or your neck because they didn't blend... This just brings me back to middle school when we're all learning to apply make up.. Keep this in mind for your foundation, bronzer, blush and eye shadows ... Blending is always the key!!
If you're
anything like me, there are days that you don't want to do a full coverage
face look, but you do want your tone evened out. Instead of investing in a BB cream (which are usually a let down anyways) mix your facial moisturizer with a little bit of
concealer or your foundation. Add more of your foundation/concealer depending on how much coverage you want. These are products that you should already have in your
collection, so no wasted money investing in new products! This also allows you
to control the amount of coverage you get.
Make your foundation last longer by blotting it with a tissue. No matter how your apply your foundation, it's almost guaranteed that you've applied too much product. Allow time for your liquid foundation to set and then take a tissue folded in half and blot your face. You will actually be surprised at how much foundation is on your tissue. This will help make sure your face doesn't look cakey, it will look more natural and last longer!
