Tuesday Tips & Tricks #1 - Mascara

Mascara Tips!

Ever accidentally not twist your mascara cap back on to the bottle and have it dry out? This is so frustrating, especially if it's a new tube!!  For dry mascara just add a few drops of contact solution.  This will add some moisture back to the mascara and it's safe for your eyes. Or, if your mascara is clumpy and not dry, run the brush under water until the water runs clear.  Then when you put it back into the tube the heat and water will bring clumpy mascara back to good. Save your mascara wands! - Don't throw out your mascara wands from used up or old mascara! Wash and re-purpose those wands, they have so many other great uses!! They can be used to help unclump eye lashes, used as an eyebrow brush, or spray it with hairspray and use them to brush and keep your eyebrows in place. (Link)

Both of these tips came from listotic.com, which is a great blog.  I have found lots of helpful tips and not just for make up ... Definitely check it out!!

Happy Tuesday lovelies!! ... Have a great week!

New Series - Tuesday Tips & Tricks

Hi lovlies!! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and for those of you lucky to have a long weekend, hope you stop for a moment to think about MLK  and the reason for the extra day!!

I am going to start a new series on my blog called Tuesday Tips & Tricks.  This will just be a simple collection of tips that I have discovered over the years.  With the invention of Pinterest and the vast amount of beauty gurus out there it is easy to come across new tips to help you in your everyday beauty.  Some of these tips are things that I've discovered myself or that I have discovered from beauty gurus.  For the tips that I can trace back to a specific source (i.e. a post on Pinterest or a beauty guru post) I will link it in the post so that you guys can see where I found it and maybe investigate a bit more and see if you can find more tips that will be helpful for you!!

Now, just because it says Tuesday does not mean that there will be a tip every Tuesday but I will try.  I'm super excited to share these with you and have been working for the last little bit to compile as many as I can remember.  Some days the tips will be longer than others, but every bit as significant as the one before.

If you have any tips you want to share, please feel free to comment below!!

NOTD - Trying Out New Polish

Accent nail - OPI I'm Feeling Sassy with Maybelline Color Show in Polka Dots
Other nails - OPI In The Cable Car Pool Lane

I got the Maybelline polish from my boyfriend's mother for Christmas and I must say, I LOVE IT.  It's a nice little extra to an accent nail but it is way easier to apply than glitter! However, it is only slightly easier to remove than glitter.  I must say I am definitely going to look into more of these polishes to see if the rest of them have the same quality!!!

I used my normal OPI bottom coat but am trying out a new top coat and the jury is still out ... I'll let you know the verdict once it is in!!

Daily dose of adorable ... Someone isn't very impressed with blogging ... Too cute!

Rediscovered foundation and FOTD

I don't know about any of you, but I tend to have a short attention span when it comes to make up. I always want to try the newest thing out there .. Always on the hunt for my new holy grail product.

This is never more true than it is with foundation. I am constantly trying new foundation. This sometimes, we'll actually usually ends up with a collection if foundation sitting on my vanity. I've recently been trying to use up any of my extra foundations and in the process have recently rediscovered an old favorite ...

Neutrogena Healthy Skin foundation was my go to foundation for a very long time. I know it's one is the more expensive foundation at the drug store, but it's worth the price tag.

The coverage is more on the light side of medium coverage, but it seems to be enough coverage. The nice thing about this foundation is it seems to help keep your face clear. Which means a lighter foundation will work because you have less to cover up.

I took pictures while I was getting ready to show you how it looks...

Left - clean face, only moisturizer and my primer

Right - foundation (I look so angry! Promise I'm not!! Lol)

Left - foundation only

Right - full face

As you can see in my first picture with only moisturizer I have some dark circles under my eyes (thankfully they are lighter today) and some uneven skin tone. The healthy skin evens all of this out!

And now on to the rest of the look... I wanted this face look to surround around this wet n' wild pallet that my sister gave to me while I was visiting over the holiday..

The colors in this are great and pigmented. The orange in the top right and the brown in the middle are matte shades. The brown in the bottom right has a small amount of glitter. And the two on the left have a shimmer/l to them.. Very beautiful!

I used the nude shadow all over my lid and as a highlight on my brow bone. Then used a combination of the other three outside shades to build up the color in my putter "v". Finally, using the matte brown to set my eyeliner for this look ...
