NOTD - Breast Cancer Awareness Inspired

Nail of the Day
Breast Cancer Awareness Inspired!!!

Beauty Secrets Bottom Coat - from Sally's Beauty Supply

Beauty Secrets Top Coat - from Sally's Beauty Supply
SinfulColors Professionals in 24/7

SinfulColors is quickly becoming my favorite nail polish brand.  It's easy to come by, sold at Target, Walmart and Walgreens.  Plus! It's not super expensive.  I believe it ranges from 1.99 to 3.99.

I know that people swear by more expensive/high end nail polish to get the staying power and avoid chipping. I however, highly disagree.  I believe that you spend your money on your top and bottom coat and that is how you get your long wearing nail color.  Make sure that when you are applying you top coat, make sure you cover your total nail and the tip of your nail too.  that way there isn't the edge exposed and allowing chips to form.  I have had a cheap nail polish last about a week with this technique!!

More tips:

1 - make sure you start with clean nails
2 - let your bottom coat dry completely before applying your color and top coat
3 - give your nails plenty of time to dry.  Even quick drying polishes need at least a hour to dry completely.

Walgreens Haul

Who doesn't love a good haul!?!?

Running into Walgreens earlier this week to get a card for Father's day and I was sucked into the new makeup displays (as always) and couldn't help but picking up a few things!

Pink Pout - Rosy Lipped - Super Natural
Almay color + care Liquid Lip Balm - Pink Pout - $5.99
Almay color + care Liquid Lip Balm - Rosy Lipped - $5.99
Revlon Super Lustrous - Super Natural - $7.99
Johnson's Baby Shampoo - $1.99
Revlon Lash Potion Mascara - Blackened Brown - $7.99

I picked up the baby shampoo because from reading other blogs and watching Beauty Gurus on YouTube, I've heard that it's great to deep clean you're make up brushes with and mine are in major need of a cleaning!!

I must admit that I've picked up the Lash Potion and Liquid Lip Balm because of blogger suggestions too!! Hopefully I wasn't lead astray!!

I'm no stranger to the Super Lustrous glosses! Looks like they've repackage them.  These glosses are awesome! They have great color pay out, long lasting (for a gloss) but aren't too sticky! Definitely something everyone should look into!!

Now, If anyone's interested in any of these products I picked up as many as I did because Walgreens is running a BOGO on them!

CoverGirl Clean Whipped Creme Review

While ago at the grocery store I notice a big display of new CoverGirl products and I was immediately drawn in.  Like any makeup addict would be!! ... There were new blushes, lip products, a new mascara and whipped creme foundation.  I've recently been on the hunt for the "perfect foundation", if that's possible, so I grabbed the foundation, CoverGirl Clean Whipped Cream foundation in 320 creamy natural.

The CoverGirl website says:

"Our lightweight whipped crème foundation gives your skin a boost of moisture without the greasy, shiny finish. You’ll love the dreamy, 100% breathable formula that leaves your skin looking smooth, natural, and matte. Available in 10 shades to match your skin tone."

http://www.covergirl.com/face-makeup/foundation-makeup/whipped-cream-foundation

First thing I noticed about the product is how light it is.  If you're considering picking up this product, definitely take some time and look into the shade.  I am a very fair skin type and usually pick up foundations in the 100's. Not this time.

This foundation would be a medium to full coverage foundation and has a great build-able.  I put a layer all over my face and added a second layer on areas that needed a little more attention.  Adding the second layer allowed me to skip concealer and didn't look cakey either.

My first initial impression with this product - I was very impressed! Went on easily, seemed to cover all my problem areas and had a good matte finish.   However, as the day went on I noticed some shine that then moved into oil as the day progressed.

Let me stop for a second and explain my skin type - For the most part I have normal skin, but can get oily around my chin area, especially during the summer months.

I tried switching up my primer - tried both SmashBox and Hard Candy - and no primer at all.  Unfortunately, nothing seemed to help. No primer at all was the worst!! By quitting time at work, my face looked like an oil slick!
